Blade thickness: 0.46 in. Item weight: 30.56 oz. Blade: Hand forged 52100 carbon steel with antiqued finish Bolster: Pewter fittings Handle: Hickory Description: Lonnie's Tomahawk Hammer Poll is very traditional in style. The leather gives an excellent grip for using the hammer. Pewter end caps with pewter collars add tremendous distinction. Lonnie has only recently begun adding a fileworked metal top cap to his work. The hickory handle has a nice mix of warm dark and light tones. The head is 52100 carbon steel with an antique patina finish (my favorite of the carbon steels for edge retention). The head has been detailed with a petroglyph of a fish skeleton. The head length is 7 3/4" and the cutting edge is 3". The haft is 21" long. This piece is very sturdy and well weighted for chopping as well as hammering.
