Blade length: 3.00 in. Total length: 6.50 in. Blade width: 0.80 in. Blade thickness: 0.10 in. Item weight: 2.64 oz. Shipment weight: 3.52 oz. Blade: Mosaic Damascus forged by Nico Pelzer from carbon steels Handle: Mammoth fossil ivory inset into a Damascus frame Style: Backlock folder Description: Nico Pelzer's knives are a pleasure in the hand. The gently rounded surface of this interframe gent's folder fits comfortably into the palm. This one-of-a-kind folder was featured in David Darom's latest book, The Art of Modern Custom Knifemaking, where he explores knifemaking techniques from start to finish with 100 different custom makers. In the book, Nico shows the process of making this knife -- from scribing the pattern to creating each of the parts. The blade features a mosaic Damascus forged by Nico from carbon steels and has been sculpted to match the radius of the ricasso and the bolsters. The highly complex Damascus pattern is nicely portrayed on the handle and blade. The blade is finished off with an 18k gold thumb catch. Mammoth ivory inlays are a deep caramel tone and have been meticulously fitted to offset the subtlety of the interframe抯 Damascus pattern. All pins are 18k gold with a hidden lock-bar pivot pin and blade stop pin and a titanium spring. Excellent fit and finish with great action.
